Hello, World,
For the longest time, https://ari.lt/ and its more recent counterpart, https://eydi.net/ (very much a work in progress at the time of writing), have operated entirely privately without any formal legal backing. Naturally, this meant my scope of operation was somewhat constrained from a legal standpoint.
A day or so ago, however, I decided to officially register both ARI.LT and EYDI.net under an individual activity certificate (individuali veikla pagal pažymą) here in Lithuania. Now that there is a legitimate legal framework anchoring these projects, a world of new possibilities has opened up - including the ability to officially accept donations! :D
Previously, I only supported LTC and XMR for contributions. Following this administrative milestone, I am happy to announce that I now support both Ko-fi and GitHub Sponsors:
These options have already been integrated into https://ari.lt/donate :)
In less than 24 hours, I received 60 Euro in donations. This amount is enough to cover my infrastructure costs for the next three to four months. I am eternally grateful to every single one of you. Thank you so much for backing my work!
Ultimately, I am incredibly proud to say that ARI.LT and EYDI.net have transcended the realm of "mere informal personal projects". Having a proper legal footing empowers me to do so much more :D
This transition has also prompted a subtle rebrand. While I still use "Ari-web" when referring to the broader project, I have begun actively migrating towards ARI.LT as the primary brand identity.
I simply wanted to share this major milestone with you all. As for the next steps? I'm setting my sights on registering a non-profit organisation (or similar entity) somewhere down the line. For now an individual activity certificate is enough.
'til next time!
